Whether you are renting, or just looking for some quick fixes in your house that isn’t going to break the bank or maybe you want to change a room but don’t want to commit to changing it permanently. Here are some cleaver tips to help you jazz up your space and make it feel more like ‘home’.


1 Fabric

A great way to jazz up any room is to use fabric as an alternative to wall art. Not only will give your room more texture, but is also hard wearing. Check out Youtube for some great ideas and tutorials how to created great looks.


2 Washi tape

This Japanese tape is typically made from natural fibers such as bamboo or hemp, the mulberry, the mitsumata shrub or the gampi tree, which are typically found from the bark of Japanese trees. If you are a crafter you may have already of seen these tapes around. They are very affordable, come in a variety of colours and designs, easy to remove and re-apply without leaving adhesive residue.


3 Removable wallpaper

Also known as ‘renters wallpaper’ – this beauty eliminated the need for paste of water. It simply requires that you remove the backing and adhere to a primed, smooth and painted surface. Not happy with the result? Just peel it off and start again.


4 Decals (wall stickers)

Express your creativity by simply peeing and sticking these stickers on your wall or even on a door. There is a huge choice of wall stickers available online – from childrens cartoons to amazing wall art.


5 Play with colour

Scared of painting your walls in case you may not like it? Why not try painting that old chair a nice bright colour? That way you can try and introduce that colour gradually rather then painting an entire wall.
